U.S. Mortgage Rates Fall

U.S. mortgage giant Freddie Mac released its weekly report on mortgage rates Thursday, which showed rates continue to decline. The agency reported that the average rate for a 30-year, fixed-rate loan, the most popular type of U.S. home loan, was 4.61 percent, down from 4.64 percent the week before and 4.84 percent a year ago. The 15-year, fixed-rate averaged 3.80 percent for the week, down from 3.82 percent a week ago and 4.24 percent a year ago.
