Verizon Connectivity Coming for iPad

After announcing earlier this week that it is bringing Apple's iPhone into its  line of smartphones that work on its wireless network, Verizon announced on Thursday that users of Apple's iPad tablet computers will finally be able to connect to the Verizon network without the use of one of its MiFi devices.

Until now, iPad users had to purchase a separate, external MiFi card in order to connect to their Verizon service when a WiFi connection was not available.  But now iPad users will be able to connect directly to Verizon's 3G network, and eventually to its 4G network.  An exact release date for the new iPads with embedded Verizon connectivity hasn't been announced but a company spokesman said the devices would be available soon.
