Starbucks Announces New, Larger Drink Size

Starbucks announced on Monday it will be rolling out a new, larger drink size in all of its US stores by May 3rd.  The new size, which the company is calling “Trenta”, will be 31 ounces, 7 ounces larger than its current largest offering, the “Venti.”  The new size will only be available for iced beverages, and the drinks will cost 50 cents more than a Venti size of a similar beverage.

The Seattle-based company reportedly tested the new size in several US markets last year in a response to customer requests for larger iced beverages.  The Trenta size will initially debut in 14 states on February 1st, including Texas, Virginia, Florida, Arizona, California, and several others.
