MasterObjects Targets Google for Patent Infringement

MasterObjects, a small search software company, filed a lawsuit Thursday against Amazon.com alleging the company infringed on one of its patents describing a method of displaying search results while a user is still typing his query, instant search, in other words.  Many tech insiders wondered why Amazon was singled out in the suit, when other tech giants like Google, Yahoo, and eBay all use similar instant search technologies.

Well today MasterObject has expanded its claim, filing a similar infringement suit against Google.  A spokesman for the firm has so far declined to comment on either the Amazon or Google cases, while also declining to say if the company will file similar complaints against other websites in the future.
