Lockheed Martin Awarded 2 Major Military Contracts

Pentagon officials announced this week that they have awarded two contracts to Lockheed Martin Corp. for a reported combined value of $625.2 million.  For the first contract, Lockheed's missile and fire control unit in Grand Prairie, Texas will receive $438.2 million for rocket launching equipment, practice rockets, and services. 

The work will be done in Grand Prairie, Orlando Florida, Lufkin, Texas, and Camden Arizona, and is expected to be finished by April 2014.  The second contract involves rocket-related work scheduled to take place in Tuscon, Arizona and Orlando through September 30,2014.  The price tag for the second contract is $187 million.  Both contracts involve work with the U.S Army.
