Groupon COO Resigning

Groupon Inc. announced Tuesday that president and chief operating officer Rob Solomon will be resigning his post in the next few months.  In a statement released to the media, Groupon CEO Andrew Mason said that Solomon is stepping down, but will remain with the company in an advisory role.

β€œRob has added enormous value to Groupon and we'll miss having him around,” Mason said.  Solomon, meanwhile, had previously announced his plans to the Wall Street Journal, saying he is stepping down partially because Groupon has grown so large.  The company has increased its payroll from 200 to over 6,000 in the last year alone.  Solomon told the Journal that he reached his decision after lengthy discussions with Mason.
