Google To Expand Payroll

Google To Expand Payroll
Google is reportedly looking to hire 2,076 new workers in the company's latest strike in the Internet talent wars. The hiring spree comes on the heels of twenty new acquisitions the company made this year that have already driven the Mountain View, California-based company's payroll over 23,000, up almost 18 percent from the start of the year.
The world's largest search engine, Google has been acitvely searching for new areas to branch into, including its Android smartphone operating system, online display advertising, and Web-based productivity software. The hiring spree is in response to the company's ongoing battle with Facebook, as the two compete for online advertising revenue and engineering talent, as well as the company's battle with Apple in the mobile OS market.
It's a good time to get on with Google, as well, as the company recently announced all employees will be receiving a ten percent raise early next year, a move insiders say is to stem the tide of employees leaving Google to work for other, high-profile tech companies. The majority of the 2,076 openings posted on Google's website are for engineering and sales positions, and about half of them are located in the US. A handful of the jobs listed are temporary positions, but most are permanent, full-time positions.
The company also lists about 50 openings for workers in the legal field, a move insiders believe is a response to the company's increasing scrutiny from regulatory bodies in recent months. There are 50 openings in China, including an opening for an Events Manager, who will try to raise awareness and usage of Google products in the country.
