Hacker Sentenced for Displaying Porn Clip On Moscow

A Russian hacker who reportedly placed pornographic content on a video billboard above Moscow's inner ring road has been sentenced to one-and-a-half years in jail, according to a Russian media report. 40-year-old Igor Blinnikov uploaded the video on January 14th, 2010 from a computer in his home in Novorossiysk, a city about 750 miles south of Moscow.
The man, who is a shipyard fitter by trade, confessed to the crime, which he called “a bad joke.” The man will reportedly appeal the sentence, hoping to have it reduced. The video was reportedly displayed on a 20 x 30 ft billboard near the Serpukhovskoy Tunnel on Moscow's busy Garden Ring Road, causing a traffic jam.
Speaking to reporters before he was sentenced, Blinnikov said he had hacked into the billboard “just for something to do.” When asked how he did it, he replied: “It would take too long top explain it.” Blinnikov said he chose the video he uploaded at random from the Internet and that the billboard was a random choice, as well.
