Warner Bros. Sued by Shareholders

A shareholder in Warner Music Group has reportedly filed a lawsuit against the company, claiming that its CEO, chairman, and board of directors breached their fiduciary duty when they accepted an offer from Access industries to purchase the music label for $3.3 billion, when a higher offer was made by billionaire brothers Tom and Alec Gores.  The suit, which seeks class-action status, seeks a court-mandated injunction against the sale plus damages to the plaintiffs.

Former KISS Guitarist Vinnie Vincent Arrested - Mug Shot Photo

By Geno

Former KISS/Vinnie Vincent Invasion guitarist Vinnie Vincent (real name Vincent Cusano) was arrested on assault charges after his wife showed up to a Tennessee police station smelling of alcohol and covered in blood.  Diane Cusano claims the argument started after she confronted the musician about him talking to a girl on Saturday night.

Diane Cusano claims the guitarist became 'verbally aggressive', telling her to 'get the f**k out of the house', then 'smacked' her in the face.  From there, she says he grabbed her by the hair, threw her to the ground and dragged her through a pile of broken glass.

It gets better:  When the police arrived at the Cusano home, they weren't surprised by Vinnie's wig scurrying across the floor (kidding), but were shocked to find four dead dogs sealed in containers - plastic storage bins, which were marked as graves and featured written memorials on each of them.  Vinnie, who still owns nine dogs, claims that one of his more aggressive dogs was the murderer.  He was not arrested on animal cruelty charges, however, he was not willing to talk about the fight and was taken into custody, where he posed for the lovely photo above before being released on a $10,000 bond.

Spencer Strand Wants To Give The Drummers Some: The Test Of Time

By drummer40
Well, it's a common fact, unfortunately, that music education is being challenged in this country due to lack of funds. This is very distressing to me because I had the opportunity to go to a highschool where there was a great music program.

At any rate, this post is dedicated to a drummer, who is really trying to provide drummers and musicians with great tools for education.

Read on to find out about Spencer Strand....

Nashville, --
There’s no doubt that Spencer Strand knows the groove. A well-respected drummer, publisher of instructional materials and product specialist, Strand really has an understanding of how to teach and live deep pocket playing. So, it’s no surprise that his current release, The Test Of Time Volume 10 of Turn It Up & Lay It Down, demonstrates his further commitment to providing drummers with a great learning experience, which is fun and challenging.

Volume 10 features 74 compelling play-along tracks, created to give the drummer, not only the ability to improve their groove, but also to perfect their control as well. By doing their homework with Volume 10, the drummer has the ability to go beyond the basic beat and experiment with soloing and filling. Strand describes this as “spatial drumming.” This approach is best defined as when the drummer has such a strong command of the music that they can stretch their creative ideas in new, fresh ways. It has also been referred to as the” internal clock”. Playing along with these tracks allows drums to fine tune that clock and builds confidence in ones time keeping ability.

The Real Drum Deal
Additionally, Volume 10 will allow drummers to:
  • Build precision playing with ease and comfort through the four-bar phrases that start each song.
  • Increase confidence needed to drive a band with conviction.
  • Make their meter so solid that that they can (with diplomacy of course) let the other players know if they are dragging or rushing.
  • Develop a strong sense of phrasing a and note placement
  • Master physical and mental techniques for subdividing in any playing situation.

Warner Music Sells for $1.3 Billion
