'MAN OF STEEL' REVEALED AT COMIC-CON 2012
By ireporterThe lucky folks at Comic-Con this year got a sneak peek of the new Superman movie, MAN OF STEEL, starring Henry Cavill, who was there at the Warner Bros. presentation in San Diego on Saturday. Zack Snyder directed the pic and was also there in Hall H, where the footage was released. Apparently, it was a hit with those lucky few who got a glimpse. Christopher Nolan produced the film. I guess we will just have to wait....

JUDD APATOW TO PRODUCE NEW PEE-WEE PIC
By ireporterYup...there is a new Pee-Wee Herman movie on the horizon and Judd Apatow will be the producer. Paul Reubens will star as the delightful Pee-Wee Herman. He starred in both of the other Pee-Wee films...PEE-WEE'S BIG ADVENTURE in 1985 and BIG TOP PEE-WEE in 1988. Reubens is currently in production for TRON: UPRISING...he is "voicing" the character of Pavel.

'AVENGERS' BEAT OUT 'HARRY POTTER' AT THE BOX OFFICE
By ireporterYep, the Disney/Marvel superhero extravaganza has earned $207.4 million upon opening...making it the "largest debut in history" in North America, beating out "Harry Potter and The Deathly Hollows" which earned a mere $169.2 mill. Disney projected "The Avengers" would earn $200.3 mill...and they are happy to see that they outdid their projection.
Worldwide the pic has scored $654.8 million, making it the top grossing film of 2012...beating out the "Hunger Games" which earned $617.7 mill at the box office.
Joss Whedon directed the 3D flick and it stars Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Samuel L. Jackson and Jeremy Renner as our fave superheroes...how could it not be
good? Ok...I admit...I saw it and it is pretty awesome!!! Make sure you see it in 3D... I had no idea the Hulk was such a bad ass!

'SOUTHLAND' GOES FOR 5
By ireporterTNT's hit show, SOUTHLAND, has just gotten the ok for a fifth season. It will be back on Feb. 10th, 2013 with 10 brand new episodes. Michael Cudltz, Regina King, Ben McKenzie and Shawn Hatosy will all return to the show. TNT picked up the show after NBC "axed" it. The head of programming(whose name I can't remember) said, "We look forward to going deeper into the lives of SOUTHLAND'S extraordinary characters and the streets they struggle to keep safe next year."

'SUPERNATURAL' GETS SEASON 8
By ireporterGood news for all you , SUPERNATURAL fans! The CW will give the show another season for Fall 2012. This will be the 8th season of the super fab show. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles will return as Sam and Dean Winchester. Jim Beaver and Misha Collins "would love to keep working on the show," so someone says. Exec Producer, Sera Gamble is leaving....and Jeremy Carver and Robert Singer will run the show.
More will be revealed about the rest of the 2012-2013 series before May 17th.

'BEASTS OF THE SOUTHERN WILD' TRAILER RELEASED
By ireporterHere is our first glimpse of the film that created quite the buzz at the Sundance Film Festival 2012. "Beasts of the Southern Wild" won the Grand Jury Prize at the fest this year. Ben Zeitlin directed the film and co-wrote the script with Lucy Alibar. The film stars Quvenzhane Wallis, Dwight Henry and Levy Easterly.
It is the story of a six year old girl named, Hushpuppy, "who becomes a hero when a storm approaches her bayou home." FOX Searchlight bought the pic and it will be released June 27.

CRUISE TAKES ON 'VAN HELSING'
By ireporterUniversal Pictures has announced that Tom Cruise is "attached" to play the vampire slayer, Van Helsing in the "reboot" of the pic, of the same name. He will be taking over the role from Hugh Jackman. Alex Kurtzman and Robert Orci (TRANSFORMERS and MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: 3) will be penning the script. No word as of, yet... as to who else will be starring in the picture.

SCARLETT JOHANSSON GETS A STAR
By ireporterIf you are going to be in LA, tomorrow...stop by the Hollywood Walk of Fame and you may see Scar Jo. On Wed., May 2nd at 11:30 am the actress will be given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. The ceremony will be across from Madame Tussaud's at 6931 Hollywood Blvd.
The actress has been nominated for a Golden Globe award four times and won a Tony award for her performance in "A View from the Bridge." She will be seen in the upcoming 3D flick, "The Avengers" as Black Widow. The film opens May 4th.
