If you are looking for great NY style pizza in Colorado Springs don't waste your time looking around, just go to Borriello Brothers. I also wouldn't waste my time with ordering anything but their pizza. I once ordered a salad and quickly wished I hadn't; I also ordered a calzone, ONCE, and again, wished I hadn't (if they ever want some advice on the art of the calzone, I used to work in a NY style pizzeria). But their pizza is as good as any other I have had. As with most NY pizza, the pizzas are huge (18") and the slices are too. I would recommend NOT getting a single slice or two, instead, if you are wanting something smaller, order a 1/2 pizza. If you only order a slice or two you risk getting warmed pizza that has already been cooked and has been sitting out waiting for you to order it. Whereas if you order a half pizza (includes 4 slices) it is made fresh. In my opinion, it makes all the difference.
I typically like to get an 18" pie with pepperoni and their italian sausage. The italian sausage is not your normal pizzeria sausage, instead they use actual italian sausage links, thinly sliced (lengthwise). The NY style crust is soft and delicious. Borriello's doesn't use too much sauce, the cheese is high quality, with just the right amount. I have also tried their supreme pizza but something about a NY style and supreme just don't go together. Normally I love supreme pizza and it has nothing to do with Borriello's, I just don't think the two go together.
The only other Borriello Brothers pizza I have tried is the Five Boroughs featuring their ultra-thin crust. I loved it three times in a row and then I ordered one that must have been pre-made. The crust just seemed really limp and almost tasted like a frozen pizza. Borriello Brothers has always been great so I am sure it was just a one-time mistake but if you guys ever read this, make sure you don't do it again because I will acknowledge it and add it to this review. LOL
For all of you anti-wheat people, Borriello Brothers now offers gluten-free options on their pizza crust.
